This past Friday I played in a music festival for concert band with the Fountain Valley Wind Ensemble. Festivals are quiet fun because they give us a chance to perform and then receive constructive criticism from one of the judicators that judged our performance. In my eyes, it was a bit disheartening to see nobody in the crowd; although, it’s understandable why they weren’t present because all of the other schools were most likely warming up for their performance. However, this led to our ensemble feeling less nervous and we went on to play a well-performed performance. The festival was fun and it was a good learning experience.

Something New

Recently, I’ve been watching a lot of EDM (Electronic Dance Music) concerts and listening to electronic music a lot. It’s really enjoyable to me because I love fast paced music that you can dance to. It’s also great music for large parties and perfect for concerts with a lot of people. Specifically a new group, Jack U, composed of two artists that have been around for awhile, Skrillex and Diplo, have had me hooked on their music this past week. They inspire me to make my own music and get into being a DJ myself.

Veni, Vidi, Vici: The Raid 2 & 13 Ghosts II

Following my previous post on Gone Girl, I am continuing my analysis of my interactions with movies and music with The Raid 2 and 13 Ghosts II, respectively. Unlike Gone Girl, the experience I had with these two pieces of art were in the comfort of my own home.
